Sam and Shane have been mates since high school, and both went on to build their own respected Christchurch plumbing businesses. Sam has been plumbing since 2005 and ran Moods Plumbing for 15 years, specialising in high-end residential plumbing and gasfitting. Shane has also been on the tools for 15 years and built Livesley Plumbing into a trusted name with builders and homeowners alike.

Between them alone, they bring more than 30 years of hands-on experience. They are both Certifying Plumbers, and they share the same belief: do the job properly, the first time.

In 2026 they joined forces to create Southern Flow Ltd. The goal was simple: build a business that plays to each of their strengths, gives their team and families a better work–life balance, and grows the right way. Sam leads business development and the commercial side, while Shane leads the team on the tools, quality and site operations.

The result is a growing Christchurch plumbing, drainage and gas company with the personal care of a family business and the capability of a bigger team. The directors are still hands-on, still proud of every job, and still mates.
